Your LIFECYCLE Instructors

Emily Harlow |

Owner & Cycling Instructor

Hi! I’m Emily, and I’m so glad you’re here! Unlike many fitness professionals, working out hasn’t always been a passion of mine. For most of my life, I struggled with body image and the insecurities that come along with it. I used to believe I wasn’t “in shape enough” to even go to the gym.

Then in March 2018, I took my first cycling class—and I hated it. It was hard, uncomfortable, and not at all what I expected. But I had committed to trying three classes, so I stuck with it. After that third class, something shifted. I felt a sense of confidence I had never experienced before. That feeling kept me coming back, and soon, what started in the studio began to transform the rest of my life—my mindset, my mood, everything.

Before opening LifeCYCLE, I worked in advertising sales at iHeartMedia. I’m a Schwinn Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor, a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach, and a proud mom to two boys, Jacob and Nicholas. My husband, Matt, is an avid outdoor cyclist who’s also grown to love indoor cycling!

Spin classes have completely changed my life—and I know I’m not the only one who’s felt unsure, unmotivated, or out of place in a fitness setting. That’s where LifeCYCLE was created: To be a welcoming, encouraging space where you can feel confident from the moment you walk in the door…and also experience a KILLER spin class!

I’m honored to be part of your journey and to help you step into the strongest, most empowered version of you.

Heather Jennings | Cycling Instructor

Heather is a hometown gal born and raised in Frederick, MD. As a former district sales manager in the DMV area, she thrived in a  fast-paced environment. However, after meeting her husband, Heather felt a magnetic pull back to her roots. With dreams of starting a family, she returned to Frederick, ready to embrace a new chapter in her life.

Exercise was not part of Heather’s everyday life but everything changed when she became a stay-at-home mom to two energetic boys. She started working out at home with her kids and dogs crawling under her feet.  It was during this transformative time that Heather realized how empowering it felt to prioritize her health and well-being.

A pivotal moment arrived when a close friend invited her to her first spin class. The moment Heather hopped on that bike, she was hooked! The exhilarating music, the sense of community, and the challenge of pushing her limits ignited a passion she never knew existed.

Now, as a Schwinn certified indoor cycling instructor at LifeCYCLE, Heather is excited to share her love for music and cycling with you!

Jamie Dorsey |

With wanting to stay active she joined a gym and tried several different classes & formats.

She recalls taking her first cycling class and thought during the working "Why would anyone do this for a workout?" "This is terrible!" "My ass hurts!" "I'm never coming back!" (sounds familiar, right?!) Her Motto is to try everything at least twice if not 3 times! By the 3rd cycling class she was hooked & became a regular. Wanting to help others, she made a goal of gaining a cycling certification and found her calling for staying active, "gym family" and gained many new friends!

Over the last 10+ years, Jamie has instructed cycling, strength, barre, hiit & has offered 1:1 personal training. Functional training & cycling has always been her passion and the cornerstone to maintaining & healthy lifestyle.

Her motto is: "Show up for yourself! No one else is gonna do it for you! When you're having fun, you're not working, you're investing in yourself!"
